Im Finale im Dezember standen sich zwei Engländer gegenüber. Mark Selby verschaffte sich von Beginn des Spiels an einen Vorsprung gegenüber Judd Trump, den er trotz des Kampfes seines Gegners bis zum Ende nicht mehr abgab. Schließlich gewann Selby das Spiel mit 10:8 und damit zum dritten Mal die UK Championship. Neben der Weltmeisterschaft und dem Masters zählt das Turnier zur sogenannten Triple Crown.
